Marchegg is home to a curiosity – Central Europe’s largest colony of white storks breeding in trees. That’s right: the storks build their nests not only on rooftops, but also in the old trees of the palace garden and in the Marchauen Nature Reserve, which is managed by the WWF.

Observe the fascinating, legendary “Master Adebar” in its majestic flight or at close range in its natural habitat. For further information on storks, visit the “stork house” in the palace garden of Marchegg, where you can also buy regional products or book guided tours and excursions with eco-educators.
